How to be a participant in an axis3 Cohort - Accessing, Facilitator Messaging, Engaging in Group Discussions, Editing

Accessing Cohorts

Step 1 (of 2): Navigate to the Cohort page from the navigation bar on the left side of the screen and select "Cohorts."

Step 2 (of 2): Select the Cohort you want to access.

Messaging the Cohort Facilitator

NOTE: Use facilitator messaging to send direct messages to facilitators. If there are multiple facilitators, they will all be able to view the message you have sent. Facilitators will receive notifications when you send them messages. 

Step 1 (of 4): In your Cohort, scroll down to the Message Facilitators box.

Step 2 (of 4): Type your message in the "Message here..." box. 

Step 3 (of 4): Optional - add an attachment by selecting the paperclip icon on the left side of the messaging box.  

Step 4 (of 4): Select the paper plane icon on the right side of the message box to send your message.

TIP: When a facilitator messages you, you will receive a bell and/or email notification. Make sure you have your email notifications turned on. Click here to learn more about managing notifications. 

Posting a Reply to a Group Discussion

Step 1 (of 4): Navigate to the discussion you want to engage in. 

Step 2 (of 4): Select Reply on the discussion to respond to the initial discussion post. 

Step 3 (of 4): Type your message in the "Reply" box.

Step 4 (of 4): Select "Submit" to post your response.

TIP: Remember to click reply on the discussion thread you want to post in. 

Viewing Responses in a Group Discussion

Step 1 (of 3): Navigate to the discussion thread. 

Step 2 (of 3): Select "Replies" in the bottom left corner of the discussion to view the participant's responses to the topic/thread. 

Step 3 (of 3): Select "Replies again to collapse the discussion thread.

Replying to a Response in a Discussion Thread

Step 1 (of 4): Navigate to the discussion thread you want to engage in. 

Step 2 (of 4): Select "Replies" in the bottom left corner of the discussion post to review responses to the topic/thread.

Step 3 (of 4): Select "Reply" next to the response you want to comment on. 

Step 3 (of 4): Type your message in the "Reply" box.

Step 4 (of 4): Select "Submit" to post your response. Your response will be posted under the initial participant's response.

Creating a New Discussion Thread

Step 1 (of 3): On the top right of the Group Discussion, select "..." and then select "New Thread."

Step 2 (of 3): Add your "Title" and a "Description" for your post.

Step 3 (of 3): Select "Submit" to post.  

NOTE: Discussion threads are listed by date with the newest discussion thread at the bottom. Administrators can pin discussion threads to the top of the discussion board.

TIP: Start a new discussion thread when the current question or topic has not been started. When responding to an existing topic or question, reply in the discussion thread. 

Editing Your Discussion Post

NOTE: You can edit discussion threads created by you and your responses to discussion threads. You can delete your responses within discussion threads, but can not delete new discussion threads created by you. Only administrators can delete new discussion threads. 

Step 1 (of 4): Find the discussion response you want to edit. 

Step 2 (of 4): Choose the edit icon to modify your post.

Step 3 (of 4): Select "Submit" to update your post in the discussion thread. 

Step 4 (of 4): Select the trash can icon to delete your discussion thread post.

TIP: Deleted posts are permanently gone. Make sure you want to delete your post before selecting the trash icon.
